A Flemish film festival, running since 2007 in the coastal city of Ostend, best known as the birthplace of the Ensor Awards - Flanders' top film honors, held at the end of each edition and now voted on by an academy of over 2,000 industry members. It pairs public screenings with an industry-facing awards culture in a North Sea resort-town setting.

Ostend Film Festival launched in 2007 and became the birthplace of what are now Flanders' top film honors: in 2010 it introduced the Flemish Film Awards, renamed the Ensor Awards in 2012 after the Ostend-based painter James Ensor, who spent much of his life in the seaside city.
