A francophone-only music festival that takes over the spa town of Spa each July, founded in 1994 and modeled directly on the Francofolies de La Rochelle in France. Unlike genre-mixed festivals, the lineup is built exclusively around French-language chanson and song, drawing performers from Belgium, France and Quebec across stages spread through the town rather than one fenced site.

Francofolies de Spa borrowed its entire format from the Francofolies de La Rochelle in France, adapting an existing French festival franchise to Belgian ground when it launched in 1994 under founder Jean-Paul Philippot, who felt francophone music was underrepresented in the countrys festival scene.
