Festival International Francophone de Slam-Poesie in Cotonou
Cotonou's Festival International Francophone de Slam-Poesie pairs writing workshops with staged spoken-word performances each May, programmed through the Institut francais du Benin's cultural agenda. It draws on a wider Francophone slam poetry movement that links Beninese performers to poets from across West and Central Africa, giving young writers a public stage for verse built on rhythm, memory and direct delivery rather than the printed page.
The Festival International Francophone de Slam-Poesie brings spoken-word poetry to Cotonou each May, built around the twin engines of any slam festival: writing workshops and staged performance.
