Talo Tshechu in Talo Gonpa
Talo Tshechu is the kind of street celebration where the useful story begins with place, timing and the way people move through the day. That timing gives the trip a frame, but the better experience comes from reading the atmosphere: parades, costumes, music, waiting crowds and quick changes in street flow.
Talo Sangnacholing, generally known as Talo Gonpa, sits on a ridge above the Punakha valley and holds particular significance in modern Bhutanese history as the ancestral home of the Wangchuck royal family's maternal line, connected to prominent religious figures associated with the site over generations.
