Sarajevo Fest in Sarajevo
Sarajevo Fest is a theatre festival built around political and social themes rather than book readings, run by the East West Center Sarajevo under director Haris Pasovic. Its program mixes Bosnian and touring international productions from countries such as Slovenia, Germany, Greece and Serbia, often partnered with UNESCO and European cultural institutes, and runs about two weeks each autumn from the National Theatre Sarajevo.
Sarajevo Fest is built around theatre as a vehicle for political and social argument rather than as literary entertainment, organized by the East West Center Sarajevo under the artistic direction of Haris Pasovic, the director also known for leading the MESS festival's relaunch during the 1990s siege.
