The story

Gaborone National Show in Gaborone

Gaborone National Show is Botswana's flagship agricultural and trade exhibition, held each August at the Agri Show Grounds in Sebele on the capital's outskirts, drawing farmers, agribusinesses and the public from across the country for the largest event on the national agricultural show circuit. As the culmination of Botswana's regional show season, it combines livestock and produce judging with agribusiness exhibitions, equestrian events and public entertainment on a scale the district shows do not attempt.

Every regional agricultural show in Botswana, from Ghanzi in the west to smaller district fairs across the country, feeds into a calendar that builds toward one culminating event: the National Agricultural Show, held each August at the purpose-built Agri Show Grounds in Sebele on Gaborone's outskirts.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

As the flagship event of Botswana's national agricultural show circuit, the Gaborone show operates at a scale no district show attempts, spanning roughly a week and combining serious livestock and produce judging with an increasingly prominent equestrian show and a broad public entertainment program

02

The mystery stays covered

Its location at the purpose-built Sebele showgrounds just outside the capital makes it uniquely accessible among Botswana's agricultural events, drawing both farming professionals and a general urban public in a way the more remote district shows cannot
