Ghanzi Agricultural Show in Ghanzi
Ghanzi Agricultural Show is one of the longest-running events on Botswana's regional agricultural show circuit, first held in 1974 to exhibit livestock breeds and now marking its golden jubilee and beyond with a week of cattle and produce displays, farming exhibitions and community events in this cattle-ranching town in western Botswana's Kalahari region.
Ghanzi sits in Botswana's semi-arid west, a cattle-ranching district where large commercial farms and San and Bakgalagadi communities share the Kalahari's sandveld, and its Agricultural Show has served as the district's main annual showcase since it was first held in 1974.
