The story

Expointer in Esteio

Expointer is one of Latin America's largest agricultural and livestock fairs, running nine days each August and September on the fairgrounds of Esteio, near Porto Alegre. Since 1967 it has paired serious agribusiness, judged livestock and farm machinery exhibits, with gaucho cowboy culture, food and horsemanship. Expect vast exhibition halls, working cattle arenas and a crowd that ranges from industry buyers to local families.

Expointer is one of the largest agricultural and livestock trade fairs in Latin America, held every year on the fairgrounds of Esteio, a short drive from Porto Alegre in Rio Grande do Sul.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Expointer's scale sets it apart from a typical city festival: multiple exhibition pavilions, open-air livestock arenas and rows of farm machinery stretch across fairgrounds large enough to need a full day just to walk through

02

The mystery stays covered

Nearly six decades of continuous editions have made it a fixture of Rio Grande do Sul's calendar, not just an agricultural trade event but a showcase for gaucho identity, from traditional dress to horsemanship demonstrations

03

The city starts moving

The mix of hard business, cattle judging and family-day atmosphere gives visitors a rare, unfiltered look at Brazil's agricultural economy alongside its ranching culture
