The Town Sao Paulo in São Paulo
Roberto Medina, the promoter behind Rock in Rio, launched The Town in 2023 at the Autodromo de Interlagos, organizing its stages as themed city neighborhoods that cover pop, hip-hop, funk carioca and sertanejo alongside international headliners. The festival alternates biennially with Rock in Rio Brasil at the same venue, giving Sao Paulo a second major festival on the off years.
Roberto Medina, the promoter behind Rock in Rio, launched The Town in 2023 as a second major festival brand sharing the same Autodromo de Interlagos grounds, but built around a different concept: rather than Rock in Rio's rock-centered identity, The Town organizes its stages as fictional neighborhoods of a themed city, each leaning into a different genre or scene, from mainstream pop and hip-hop to Brazilian funk and sertanejo, so a single ticket covers a much wider stylistic range than Rock in Rio's traditional lineup.
