Taste of Ramadan in All over Brunei
Taste of Ramadan is Brunei's nationwide push to spotlight the holy month's food culture, anchored by evening bazaars that appear across the sultanate as fasting hours end. Vendors set up from around mid-afternoon, selling nasi katok, satay, pais daging and sweet kuehs alongside chilled air gelagah sugarcane juice. The campaign frames Ramadan around shared iftar meals and neighborhood hospitality, inviting visitors to sample everyday Bruneian cooking while respecting the fasting customs around them.
Each year, as the fasting month settles over Brunei, the sultanate's streets change rhythm in a way that has little to do with formal ceremony and everything to do with food.
