Ethno Rhythms Golden Sands in Golden Sands
Folklore ensembles from chitalishte community centers parade through Golden Sands in costume before taking open-air stages for three evenings of regional song and dance. Held in early September as the summer crowds ease, the festival gives resort guests an unplanned encounter with live Bulgarian folk music, gaida bagpipes and horo circle dances, without leaving the promenade. It runs as part of Varna's regional folklore festival circuit.
Community-center folklore troupes from Bulgaria and abroad open the festival with a costume parade down Golden Sands' main promenade, embroidered aprons and silver jewelry catching the resort's evening light before the dancers scatter to open-air stages for three nights of concerts.
