Ruse Carnival in Ruse
Ruse Carnival is a municipally organized June evening of costumed procession, dance, and music that converges on Liberty Square in front of the Courthouse. Marching columns start from separate points around the city centre and meet for a joint parade, followed by a Latin dance segment, live music, an open-air disco, and fireworks. Participation has run into the hundreds of costumed marchers in documented editions.
Four columns of costumed marchers once converged on Ruse's Liberty Square from four different starting points: Battenberg Square, Alexandrovska Street, the front of the Municipality building, and the State Opera House, meeting in front of the Courthouse for a single procession.
