LUNAR Festival of Lights in Sofia

Since its 2022 launch by design studio MP-STUDIO, LUNAR has projected 3D-mapped light art onto Sofia's buildings, parks and squares over four free evenings each May, drawing crowds organizers put above 600,000. The lineup mixes Bulgarian and international light artists, and in a recent edition the format expanded to Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast.

LUNAR launched in Sofia in 2022, created by the design studio MP-STUDIO, and has since grown into what organizers describe as Bulgaria's largest single art event by attendance, with more than 600,000 visitors reported across the festival's evenings in recent years.
