FESTIC in Ouagadougou
FESTIC (Festival des Identites Culturelles) is a Ouagadougou film and culture event organized by Cinema Numerique Ambulant Afrique, now in its seventh edition. Centered on screenings, panels and masterclasses in the Ouidi district and the IDS university residence, it pairs a curated film slate with a rotating spotlight on one Burkinabe community, the Bissa in its most recent run.
FESTIC closed its seventh edition in Ouagadougou by handing its short-documentary prize to Togolese filmmaker Jeannine Dissirama Bessoga for Werga, one signal of how far the festival now reaches beyond Burkina Faso's own borders.
