Buja Sans Tabou in Bujumbura
Buja Sans Tabou is a biennial theatre, dance and youth-culture festival in Bujumbura, first held in 2014 and based on Avenue Ganza in the Kabondo neighbourhood, with programming spilling into partner venues across the city. Expect staged drama on social themes, dance-theatre, rap and slam poetry, panel discussions, masterclasses and DJ-led nights, plus touring stops in the provinces and in schools.
Bujumbura's Buja Sans Tabou festival turns theatre, dance and youth culture into a week-long meeting point every two years, drawing its name from a promise to stage work without taboo subjects.
