A Cabo Verdean national literary prize aimed at publishers rather than individual authors, funding the publication of an unpublished literary work in any genre, named for poet Mario Fonseca and run by the National Library in partnership with the Cabo Verdean Association of Letters. Submissions run for roughly two months each cycle.
Unlike Cabo Verde's other national literary prizes, which are open to individual writers, the Mario Fonseca Literary Prize is aimed specifically at national publishers, awarding the publication of a previously unpublished literary work in any genre rather than a cash prize paid directly to an author.
