Chaktomuk Short Film Festival in Phnom Penh

Chaktomuk Short Film Festival, founded in 2012 by the Sunflower Film Alliance collective, is Cambodia's first and largest dedicated short film festival, screening dozens of finished films from Cambodian and international directors free of charge across Phnom Penh each October or November. Named after the river confluence at the capital, it combines public screenings, a competitive strand for emerging filmmakers, and occasional provincial rescreenings, functioning as a key launchpad for young Cambodian cinema talent.

Chaktomuk Short Film Festival began in 2012 as the country's first dedicated short film event, launched by Sunflower Film Alliance, a collective of young Cambodian filmmakers and industry professionals determined to build an audience for a format the commercial cinema circuit largely ignored.
