Mbam'Art in Bafia
Mbam'Art is a biennial-to-triennial cultural festival in Bafia marking thirty years and twelve editions, drawing roughly 12,000 visitors in recent editions to a 101-stand festival village supported by about twenty NGOs and sponsors. Centred on the heritage of the wider Grand Mbam region, it combines craft display, music and dance with an explicit stated role as a regional economic and social-cohesion engine.
Mbam'Art has marked three decades since its founding across a dozen editions, a gap between founding year and edition count that reflects how the festival has run only every two to three years rather than annually since it began in 1996.
