Festival Douala Fiesta in Douala
Festival Douala Fiesta is Douala's official year-end festival, run by the city's urban council from 19 December to 1 January and anchored at the Parcours Vita site with activities across the city's districts. Concerts, children's entertainment, a food fair, canvas-painting workshops and the election of Miss Fiesta combine with a civic mission to inform residents about municipal projects and services.
Festival Douala Fiesta exists partly as civic outreach: alongside concerts, shows and a food fair, the Communaute Urbaine de Douala, the city's urban council, uses the festival as a platform to inform and educate residents about their rights and duties and about ongoing development projects, folding municipal messaging directly into what otherwise reads as a straightforward year-end party.
