Salon Urbain de Douala in Douala
Salon Urbain de Douala, known as SUD, is a triennial contemporary and public art event staged across Douala, Cameroon, since 2007 under the cultural center doual'art. Each edition installs new public artworks and restores existing monuments throughout the port city, gathering African and international artists around a chosen urban theme, making it one of Central Africa's most significant platforms for socially engaged public art.
Douala, Cameroon's largest city and economic capital, is better known for its congested traffic and bustling port than for contemporary art museums.
