Mboa BD Festival in Yaounde

Mboa BD Festival is Central Africa's first and largest comics festival, created in 2010 and now in its sixteenth February edition across Yaounde's Monument de la Reunification and Goethe-Institut Kamerun. Each edition takes a theme, from environmental questions to wider cultural debates, and mixes author workshops, signings, a digital comics contest, cosplay competitions and exhibitions drawing artists from Cameroon, neighbouring countries, Morocco and France.

Mboa BD Festival gives Cameroon's comic artists something rare in Central Africa: a dedicated annual stage rather than a side slot at a general arts fair.
