Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival in Banff
Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival has run each November since 1976 at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, screening adventure, climbing, skiing and environmental films judged across multiple award categories, alongside a parallel book festival of author talks and panels. Selected films later travel worldwide on the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour, extending the festival's reach far beyond its Rockies host town.
Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival began in 1976 as a modest film screening organized by the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and has grown into one of the most respected showcases of adventure, exploration and mountain culture media in the world, expanding to include a dedicated book festival component that recognizes literary work on similar themes.
