MURAL Festival Montreal in Montreal

MURAL Festival has turned Boulevard Saint-Laurent into an open-air gallery since 2013, closing the Main to traffic for several weekends while international and Montreal-based artists paint large-scale murals live in public view. Free concerts, DJ sets and food vendors fill the pedestrianized street alongside the painting, and finished murals stay up well after the festival ends, gradually reshaping the boulevard's visual identity year over year.

MURAL Festival launched in 2013 and turned a stretch of Boulevard Saint-Laurent, known locally as the Main, into an open-air gallery of large-scale murals painted live by international and Montreal-based street artists over the course of the festival.
