Canada Day in Multiple cities
Canada Day, marked every July 1, commemorates the 1867 Constitution Act that created the Dominion of Canada and is celebrated nationwide with fireworks, parades, citizenship ceremonies and community gatherings. Ottawa hosts the largest formal program on Parliament Hill, but nearly every Canadian city and town holds its own version, making the holiday one of the most widely experienced travel-relevant events in the country.
Canada Day falls on July 1 each year, marking the anniversary of the 1867 Constitution Act that united the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick into a single Dominion, and the date has grown from a modest nineteenth-century commemoration into the country's largest coordinated day of public celebration.
