Vancouver Writers Fest in Vancouver
Granville Island hosts hundreds of Canadian and international authors each October for Vancouver Writers Fest, a week of readings, interviews and panel discussions founded in 1988 by Alma Lee. Past guests have included Margaret Atwood, Salman Rushdie and Alice Munro. Expect ticketed sessions built around conversation rather than solo readings, book tables, signings and a compact, walkable island venue cluster.
Vancouver Writers Fest turns Granville Island into a week-long hub for readings, interviews and panel discussions each October, drawing novelists, poets and nonfiction writers from Canada and abroad to a cluster of small theatres clustered around the island's market.
