Dozens of volunteer-run cultural pavilions fill halls, churches and clubs across Winnipeg each August for Folklorama, with each pavilion representing a specific community through food, dance and traditional dress. Launched in 1970 during Manitoba's centennial, the festival runs two weeks split into two blocks, and a stamped Folklorama passport has become the signature way visitors track which pavilions they have toured.
