The story

One Cayman Carnival in George Town

One Cayman Carnival unifies Grand Cayman's Batabano and CayMAS carnival organizations into a single street parade, held on a Saturday in late May from South Church Street to Public Beach in George Town, featuring mas bands, music trucks, charity floats and a beachside after-party. Costumed carnival wear is common among spectators as well as performers, continuing Batabano's mas band tradition dating back to 1983.

One Cayman Carnival marks the first time Grand Cayman's two long-running carnival organizations, Cayman Carnival Batabano and CayMAS, staged a single unified street parade rather than separate events on separate weekends.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

What distinguishes this event is its origin as a merger: two established carnival bodies with separate histories combining into one parade rather than a single organization simply growing larger

02

The mystery stays covered

The route itself, tracing George Town's waterfront before finishing at Public Beach, and the mix of charity-cause floats alongside traditional mas bands, gives the event a blend of civic fundraising and Caribbean carnival spectacle distinct from Cayman Brac's separately run Braccanal
