Ti-i Festival in Bangui
Bangui's largest stadium hosted its fifth Ti-i Festival across a week in April, after funding troubles pushed the program back from its original February date. Musicians, dancers, storytellers and traditional games shared the same stage, drawing performers from across the Central African Republic and its diaspora. Organizers pair emerging acts with established names, and the week mixes evening concerts with daytime cultural demonstrations.
Bangui's 20,000-seat stadium became a stage for something other than football on 4 April, when the fifth edition of the Ti-i Festival opened a week-long program running through 10 April.
