Festival International des Cultures des Peuples du Sahara in Amdjarass
The Festival International des Cultures des Peuples du Sahara, or FICSA, gathers Saharan peoples from Chad and neighboring countries in Amdjarass, capital of Chad's remote Ennedi Est province, for a week of desert arts, dance, and cultural exchange. Its sixth edition in February 2026, presided over by the Prime Minister on behalf of the President, returned after a seven-year interruption, drawing delegations including from Niger and Burkina Faso.
In February 2026, the remote town of Amdjarass, capital of Chad's Ennedi Est province in the country's far northeast, hosted the sixth edition of the Festival International des Cultures des Peuples du Sahara, known by its French acronym FICSA.
