Festival Cielos del Infinito in Punta Arenas
Founded in 2008, Festival Cielos del Infinito is billed as the world's southernmost arts festival, organized by the Punta Arenas non-profit Hain Producciones. Running roughly twelve days across multiple Magallanes towns, including Puerto Natales, Puerto Williams, Porvenir and Cerro Castillo, it spans theater, circus, dance, visual arts, cinema, literature and performance in settings ranging from patrimonial buildings to open landscapes.
Founded in 2008 by a group of young actors in Punta Arenas, Festival Cielos del Infinito describes itself as the world's southernmost arts festival, and the geography backs up the claim: the region of Magallanes sits at the tip of continental South America, bordering the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego, far removed from Chile's central cultural infrastructure.
