Fiesta de la Pampilla in Coquimbo
Fiesta de la Pampilla is one of Chile's largest Fiestas Patrias gatherings, filling the Pampilla hillside above Coquimbo with fondas, cueca dancing, rodeo displays and concert stages every September. Families and visitors from across the Coquimbo region treat it as the high point of the independence holiday, moving between food stalls, dance floors and grandstands over several days of music, asado and red wine, in one of northern Chile's biggest public parties.
Coquimbo's Pampilla district turns into one of Chile's biggest open-air gathering grounds every September, when the hillside area above the port city fills with fondas, sound stages and cueca circles for Fiestas Patrias.
