Valdivia International Film Festival in Valdivia
Founded in 1994, the Valdivia International Film Festival, FICV, is one of Chile's leading platforms for independent and international arthouse cinema, held each October in the southern city of Valdivia, at the confluence of the Calle-Calle and Cau-Cau rivers. Its compact riverside venues and strong Chilean and Latin American independent film sections have built a three-decade reputation among critics and filmmakers.
Founded in 1994, the Valdivia International Film Festival, known locally as Festival Internacional de Cine de Valdivia or FICV, has grown into one of Chile's most respected platforms for independent and auteur-driven cinema, built around a city defined by rivers rather than a capital's urban sprawl.
