China International Cartoon and Animation Festival in Hangzhou
CICAF, held annually in Hangzhou since 2005, is China's largest state-level cartoon and animation festival, built around the Golden Monkey King Awards - often called the Oscars of Chinese animation. Recent ceremonies have recognised several dozen productions across film, television, shorts and comics, alongside industry panels, public exhibitions and screenings that draw both animation professionals and fans.
Since 2005, Hangzhou has hosted what its organisers call the first and largest state-level cartoon and animation festival in China, an event built around an award now nicknamed the Oscars of Chinese animation.
