Kashgar Corban Festival is the regional observance of Eid al-Adha, the Islamic festival of sacrifice, centred on Id Kah Mosque, the largest mosque in China, built in 1442 and capable of holding tens of thousands of worshippers for the festival's communal morning prayer. Public dancing and music on the mosque square follow the religious observance, extending the occasion through Kashgar's old city.
