Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota
Founded in 2010 by seven friends as a struggling one-day event drawing under 3,000 attendees, Festival Estereo Picnic relaunched in 2013 as a multi-day, internationally booked festival at a larger Bogota site, and now draws close to 170,000 visitors across three or four days as Colombia's biggest alternative and international music festival.
Fewer than three thousand people showed up to the first edition of what is now Colombia's biggest music festival: seven friends, including Sergio Pabon, Santiago Velez, Julian Martinez and Julio Correal, founded a company called Sueno Estereo to stage the inaugural Festival Estereo Picnic on April 24th, 2010, a one-day event headlined by American rapper Matisyahu and Belgian dance act 2manydjs alongside mostly Colombian acts.
