International Ballet Festival in Cali
Founded in 2006 by Gloria Castro, founder of the Colombian Institute of Classical Ballet, Cali's international ballet festival pairs invited touring companies with Incolballet's own dancers across performances and educational activities. Organised through Castro's Danza Conmigo Foundation, it gives a city globally associated with salsa a dedicated classical-dance platform roughly two decades old.
Cali's international ballet festival was created in 2006 on the initiative of maestro Gloria Castro, founder and then-director of the Colombian Institute of Classical Ballet, known as Incolballet, capping a decades-long personal project building the city's classical dance infrastructure from the ground up.
