Founded in 1959 or 1960 by Victor Nieto, who directed it for 48 years, the Cartagena International Film Festival, known as FICCI, is the oldest film festival in Latin America, running each March with a programme focused on Ibero-American and Colombian cinema and more than 5,000 films screened across its history.
