Santa Fe de Antioquia Film Festival in Santa Fe de Antioquia
Founded in 2000 by the Corporacion de Cine y Video de Santa Fe de Antioquia, this early-December festival turns the whole colonial town into an open-air cinema, with free outdoor screenings under the stars timed around the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Thematic cycles, workshops and conferences draw an estimated 15,000 attendees annually from Santa Fe de Antioquia, Medellin and western Antioquia.
Santa Fe de Antioquia's film festival began in 2000, when the newly formed Corporacion de Cine y Video de Santa Fe de Antioquia set out to strengthen audiovisual culture and civic formation through cinema in a colonial town better known for its heritage architecture than for film.
