Dolisie Cultural Festival in Dolisie
Dolisie, Congo's third-largest city, shares hosting duties for Festival RIAPL, a biennial storytelling, puppetry, slam and theatre festival founded in 2005 that alternates between Dolisie and Brazzaville in odd-numbered Junes. No single event independently matches the generic Dolisie Cultural Festival name; the city also hosts open-air Fete de la Musique concerts each year.
Dolisie, the Republic of Congo's third-largest city and commercial hub of the Niari valley, does not host one single flagship event that matches a generic cultural-festival name, but it shares hosting duties for a genuinely significant one: Festival RIAPL, short for Rencontres Itinerantes des Arts de la Parole et du Langage, a biennial, multidisciplinary festival of storytelling, puppetry, slam, percussion and theatre founded in 2005 under artistic director Julles Ferry Moussoky, a gold-medal-winning storyteller from the Francophonie Games.
