Juego de los Diablitos Rey Curre in Rey Curre
Rey Curre, also known by its Boruca-language name Yimba, stages its own Juego de los Diablitos each first weekend of February, distinct in timing and community organisation from the related observance held in neighbouring Boruca over the New Year period. Both share the same historical re-enactment of documented Spanish-conquest resistance, with masked diablito performers symbolically defeating a bull-costumed figure representing the conquistadors.
Rey Curre, known also by its Boruca-language name Yimba, stages its own version of the Juego de los Diablitos each year during the first weekend of February, a distinct staging from the related observance held in the neighbouring Boruca community from 30 December through 2 January.
