Abidjan Capitale du Rire in Abidjan

Abidjan Capitale du Rire is a French-language stand-up comedy festival founded in 2015 by broadcaster and comedian Mamane, staged at the Palais de la Culture in Abidjan. Produced by Gondwana City Productions, it has become the largest humor festival in francophone Africa, launching comedians such as Boukary and Willy Dumbo and running its own comedy training school. The festival usually takes place in February.

Abidjan Capitale du Rire began in 2015 as a project by the Niger-born comedian and broadcaster Mamane, best known across French-speaking Africa for his satirical radio sketches, and it has grown into the largest stand-up comedy festival in the francophone world.
