Clap Ivoire in Abidjan

Clap Ivoire is Cote d'Ivoire's oldest film festival, founded in 1995 for the centenary of cinema and now run by the national cinema office ONACCI. Open to young filmmakers across the West African UEMOA bloc, it pairs national selection rounds with an international finals week in Abidjan each year, judged in fiction and documentary categories and marked by the Grand Prix Kodjo Eboucle award.

Clap Ivoire is Cote d'Ivoire's oldest and largest film event, a short-film festival created in 1995 as part of the country's celebration of cinema's centenary, and it has run nearly every year since under the original organizing group, the Union des cine-clubs de Cote d'Ivoire, before passing to the Office National du Cinema de Cote d'Ivoire (ONACCI) in 2012.
