FICAD - Festival International de la Culture et des Arts de Daoukro in Daoukro
FICAD is a multi-day arts and culture festival held in Daoukro, a regional town in the Iffou area of Cote d'Ivoire, now running past its twentieth edition. Recent years have paired traditional exhibitions and performances with a stated theme on tradition and technology, plus a literary competition awarding the Grand Prix Henri Konan Bedie. The event runs roughly nine days in late March into early April, giving visitors an unusually long window for a regional festival.
FICAD has run in Daoukro long enough to reach a 21st edition, which puts it among the more established regional arts festivals in Cote d'Ivoire even though it rarely draws international press outside the country.
