Senj Summer Carnival in Senj

The International Senj Summer Carnival began in 1967 and has become the largest carnival of its kind in Croatia, held during the second week of August in this walled Adriatic port town. Thousands of masked marchers from across Europe parade past thousands more spectators along Senj's seafront in the shadow of the Nehaj fortress.
