Marulic Days in Split
Marulicevi dani, established in 1991 to mark the 490th anniversary of Marko Marulic's Judita, is an annual festival of new Croatian drama staged at the Croatian National Theatre in Split, drawing submitted plays from across the wider region each spring. It shares a home venue with the broader Splitsko ljeto festival but keeps a distinct dramaturgical focus.
Marulicevi dani, or Marulic Days, was established in 1991 to mark the 490th anniversary of the publication of Judita, an epic poem by fifteenth and sixteenth-century writer Marko Marulic, widely regarded as the founding work of Croatian-language literature.
