Founded in 1983 by Romulo Loredo and Manuel Villabella as Cuba's competitive counterpart to Havana's non-competitive theatre festival, the Festival Nacional de Teatro de Camaguey gathers the country's selected productions at the historic Teatro Principal every two years.
