What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

The festival's closing humidor auction, which has raised as much as 1

02

The mystery stays covered

7 million Swiss francs in a single night with proceeds donated directly to Cuba's public health system, is a distinctive philanthropic centrepiece rarely matched by trade-focused festivals in any industry

03

The city starts moving

Its field-trip day to the Vuelta Abajo region, widely regarded as producing the world's finest cigar tobacco, gives attendees direct access to working plantations and curing houses rather than only a convention-hall trade fair

04

The water draws everyone in

Growing from roughly four hundred attendees in 1999 to delegations from around eighty countries reflects an unusually steep growth trajectory for a niche industry event launched during a politically difficult period for Cuban international relations
