Festival del Habano in Havana

Launched in 1999 by the state cigar company Habanos S.A., the Festival del Habano now draws up to two thousand producers, retailers and enthusiasts from roughly eighty countries to Havana each February. The week includes a field visit to the Vuelta Abajo tobacco region, a trade fair of around one hundred and eighty exhibitors, and a closing gala auctioning exclusive humidors for Cuba's public health system.
