Carnaval de Holguin

Holguin, nationally known as the City of Parks for its distinctive plaza-centered layout, stages its carnival across multiple civic spaces at once, the Calixto Garcia stadium, Avenida de los Alamos, Plaza Camilo Cienfuegos and the Pedro Diaz Coello community in one recent edition, with comparsas and floats traditionally parading along Avenida de los Libertadores in a celebration locals describe as an annual disruption of ordinary civic life.
