Semana de la Cultura Villaclareña in Santa Clara
Santa Clara holds its Semana de la Cultura Santaclarena each November 13 to 19, drawing on cultural roots reaching back to colonial-era religious and royal festivals, including the Verbena de la Calle Gloria honouring patron saint Santa Clara de Asis, before being formally institutionalised after 1959 through a dedicated Council of Culture and a strong amateur artist movement that still shapes the week's programming.
Santa Clara's culture week, properly the Semana de la Cultura Santaclarena, runs each year from November 13 to 19, timed independently of the city's better-known revolutionary commemorations tied to the Battle of Santa Clara.
