Semana de la Cultura Trinitaria

Begun in 1974 at the proposal of city historian Carlos Joaquin Zerquera y Fernandez de Lara, Trinidad's Semana de la Cultura, marking the city's founding between December 1513 and January 1514, was the first such week-long culture celebration in Cuba, a format later adopted by Camaguey and Baracoa, featuring the Premio Unico de las Artes, concerts and exhibitions tied to Trinidad's UNESCO Creative City in Crafts and Folk Art designation, with a recent fifty-first edition.
